Visiting Parents

A special highlight in our ministry is meeting the parents of the servicemen and women who fellowship with us. Occasionally Yvonne and I have the privilege of hosting some of them in our home when they come to visit their sons or daughters who are stationed in the area.


Greg Weber
Greg Weber, from Clatskanie, Oregon, came to visit his son, IS3 Jason Weber (Navy), and joined us for our Saturday evening activities. We went "frigid golfing." Most people call it "mini golfing" but then they don't go when it is really cold outside! He stayed with us while he was visiting.
Dorinda and Kevin Smart	Donald and Martha Philgreen
Kevin and Dorinda came to visit AOSN Casey (Navy) and Robin Smart. We were neighbors in Grand Junction, CO so it was nice renewing old acquaintances at one of my favorite "food" places!	Don and Martha came from Overland Park, Kansas to welcome SA Tim Philgreen's ship, the USS Kaufmann, back from deployment. Don helped me put together a jigsaw puzzle I was working on while Martha and Yvonne made up a sign for Tim's homecoming. They spent the night with with us and met the ship on a cold and wintery morning.

When MM2 Micah Dudley's ship, the USS Enterprise, came back from deployment Micah's family came from Bolivar, New York. They invited Yvonne and I to go out to dinner with them at the Outback Steakhouse (yummy!)
Frank and Linda James	Thomas and Corrine Frank
Frank and Linda from Wisscasset, Maine came to dinner and attended church with us while they were in the area to visit their daughter and son-in-law David Combs (Air Force). The James have been friends of ours since I was the associate pastor of their church over twenty years ago!	Thomas and Corrine from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota came to watch their son graduate from the Joint Forces School of Music at Little Creek Amphibious Base. Staying overnight with us we had a great time of fellowship as they shared family stories of their son LCPL Will Frank (Marine). We prayed together for Will's safety because he will be deploying to Iraq.
