HIS
ORIGIN AND FALL
Ezekiel
28:11-19
"This
is what the Sovereign LORD says...You were the model of perfection, full
of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every
precious stone adorned you...Your settings and mountings were made of gold;on
the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian
cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked
among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you
were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread
trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in
disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub,
from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your
beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw
you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings...'"

14:12-15
"How
you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have
been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said
in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the
stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost
heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High." But you are brought down to the
grave, to the depths of the pit."
1.

Revelation
12:3-4, 7-9
"Then
another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads
and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. His tail swept a third of
the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood
in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour
her child the moment it was born...And there was war in heaven. Michael
and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels
fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in
heaven. The great dragon was hurled down-that ancient serpent called the
devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the
earth, and his angels with him."

TEMPTATION
OF MAN
Genesis
3:1-6
"Now
the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had
made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, `You must not eat from
any tree in the garden'?" The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit
from the trees in the garden, but God did say, `You must not eat fruit
from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch
it, or you will die.'" "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the
woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened,
and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." When the woman saw that
the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also
desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some
to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it."

CAME TO DESTROY THE DEVIL!
Hebrews
2:14-15
"Since
the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that
by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death-that is,
the devil - and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by
their fear of death."
Colossians
2:15
"And
having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle
of them, triumphing over them by the cross."
TEMPTATION
OF JESUS
Matthew
4:1-11
"Then
Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came
to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become
bread." Jesus answered, "It is written: `Man does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Then the devil took
him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.
"If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written:
"`He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up
in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'"
Jesus answered him, "It is also written: `Do not put the Lord your God
to the test.'" Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed
him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. "All this I will
give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." Jesus said to
him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: `Worship the Lord your God,
and serve him only.'" Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended
him.

CHILD
OF GOD? CHILD OF THE DEVIL?
Ephesians
2:1-10
"As
for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used
to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the
kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of
our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest,
we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us,
God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were
dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised
us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ
Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable
riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For
it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are
God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God
prepared in advance for us to do."
Colossians
1:13-14
"For
he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the
kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness
of sins."
1
John 3:1-10
"How
great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called
children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not
know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children
of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that
when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone
who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. Everyone
who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that
he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has
either seen him or known him. Dear children, do not let anyone lead you
astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been
sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy
the devil's work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because
God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been
born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the
children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not
a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
SATAN’S
SCHEMES
2
Corinthians 2:9-11
"The
reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient
in everything. If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have
forgiven-if there was anything to forgive-I have forgiven in the sight
of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we
are not unaware of his schemes."

Genesis

He
accuses believers before God
Job
1:1-22 & 2:1-10
In
the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless
and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. He had seven sons and three
daughters, and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five
hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of
servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East. His
sons used to take turns holding feasts in their homes, and they would invite
their three sisters to eat and drink with them. When a period of feasting
had run its course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the
morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking,
"Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." This
was Job's regular custom. One day the angels came to present themselves
before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. The LORD said to Satan,
"Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through
the earth and going back and forth in it." Then the LORD said to Satan,
"Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him;
he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil." "Does
Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. "Have you not put a hedge around
him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work
of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.
But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely
curse you to your face." The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything
he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then
Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. One day when Job's sons and
daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house,
a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys
were grazing nearby, and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They
put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to
tell you!" While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said,
"The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants,
and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!" While he was still
speaking, another messenger came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three
raiding parties and swept down on your camels and carried them off. They
put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to
tell you!" While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and
said, "Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest
brother's house, when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and
struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are
dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!" At this, Job
got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground
in worship and said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will
depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the
LORD be praised." In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
Job
2:1-10
On
another day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and
Satan also came with them to present himself before him. And the LORD said
to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming
through the earth and going back and forth in it." Then the LORD said to
Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like
him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And
he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to
ruin him without any reason." "Skin for skin!" Satan replied. "A man will
give all he has for his own life. But stretch out your hand and strike
his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face." The LORD
said to Satan, "Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare
his life." So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted
Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.
Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as
he sat among the ashes. His wife said to him, "Are you still holding on
to your integrity? Curse God and die!" He replied, "You are talking like
a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?"
